Technovation is a Silicon Valley-based App making Challenge to encourage young girls to enter tech fields and help solve societal problems. Every year, Technovation, challenges girls all over the world to build a mobile app that addresses a community problem. Since 2010, over 3,000 girls from 28 countries have participated in Technovation around the world. DIL moves towards online Education Management Information System

DIL is at the cutting edge of technology-enabled education delivery Beginning in 2015, the organisation took a big step forward by investing in an Education Management Information System (EMIS). DIL's EMIS database provides live information to better inform recruiting and training practices, on-ground logistics,  student demographics and assessment data. As of April 2016, DIL is midstream in transitioning from its manual database to an online EMIS. DIL receives 7,000 books as a donation from a leading publishing company

DIL extends its deepest appreciation to a  that last month contributed free of cost some 7,000 books to our libraries. These are mostly Science, Arts, Social Studies and General Knowledge related books for the students up to grade 8. The books are in the process of being distributed across our 124 school campuses across the country. DIL librarians and school staff will be using the books as reading support material to enhance reading skills of students during library time period. DIL launches a USAID funded E-Libraries project

Islamabad - A USAID funded pilot project was formally launched on Thursday, 25th February 2016 to improve English reading skills of primary students in undeveloped parts of three districts of the Punjab, Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Under the project, 310 tablets equipped with a digital library of 300 story books would be provided in 16 schools of districts Rawalpindi, Khairpur and Dir to improve English reading skills of the students from grades three to five. DIL Student Receives Presidential Medal

Zamin Raza Mangi, a 10 year old student from DIL-NOWA School, Madina Colony, Khairpur, won the Pakistan Boy Scouts Association’s President’s Gold Medal. The ceremony was held in Islamabad at the Presidency, where he received the award from the President of Pakistan. The competition, held every 4 years, tests participants on both their physical and mental capabilities. When DIL opened a school in Gareeba Village in 2002, only 20% of its male population had received 5 to 10 years of schooling, and just six girls—including Nusrat Bibi, the school’s head teacher—had completed high school. The majority of the community was resentful; they feared DIL would create a sociocultural imbalance by changing girls’ attitudes and giving them a voice.
